• Everybody arrives at the oasis, led by Weather Control, as its being attacked by low-level machine-type monsters. Torunka, the Dark Sage, is fending them off along with some other spirits, mostly ones from Ruka's deck (Sunlight Unicorn, Kuribon, Sunny Pixie, etc.) and Naturia spirits. Everybody steps in and helps fend off the Machine-types.

• Things calm down once the Machines retreat. Torunka explains where they are: they're in what remains of the Forest of Pojar. The root of a great sacred tree is buried deep within the forest and it gives it life. After Ruka defeated Zeman and went back to the Human World, a Machina Soldier appeared. He began using the energy buried within the forest. He created other machines, then he created factories. Then he began upgrading himself. Eventually, he began calling himself the Machine King. He developed a much faster, weaponized form of the Minus Curse that instantly turns someone into a card. He destroyed the city of Schwank and built a Machine City over it, turning all of its citizens that didn't manage to escape into cards. Then he began absorbing the energy of the forest en masse and again, turning any of the denizens of the forest they caught into cards. Over the past six months, almost all of the forest's energy was drained, save the couple acres that they were standing in currently, and the Machine King's attacks were growing fiercer and fiercer to try and take the last of the forest.

• Torunka agrees to send everybody home, but as he's been fighting to defend the forest, it'll take him a while to gather the energy for the spell to send them home. Rua and Ruka decide they want to stay to help the forest (and they need to get the device they took from Security back), but the option for Isabel and Sly to return home will at least be there. So they stay in the forest for a few days.

• Before Torunka's gathered up the energy he needs for his spell, the forest is attacked again. This time, the Machine King shows up personally along with his right-hand man, Robotic Knight. Torunka duels Machine King. Robotic Knight duels everybody else with a squad of other machines. Through the course of the duel, it becomes apparent that Robotic Knight is the one who has the device that Rua and Ruka have to get. Machine King defeats Torunka and gravely injures him. Robotic Knight is overpowering everybody else and things look like they're just about over when Ancient Fairy Dragon and Regulus show up. They can't defeat the machines (they both give it a good try though. Ancient Fairy clocks Machine King good and Regulus bites Robotic Knight's effin' arm off), but they at least manage to get the kids and Ushio out of the immediate line of fire.

• Injured, Machine King and Robotic Knight retreat while their forces, now en masse, finish absorbing the rest of the forest and carding the rest of its citizens, including Ruka's spirits, Kuribbon, Sunny Pixie, Sunlight Unicorn, etc. The machines leave and the forest is pretty much totally gone. Eventually, the group finds something in the ground - a sapling, the remains of the root that gave the forest of Pojar its life. With the last of his strength, Torunka tells them that the Machine King will undoubtedly come for the sapling as well - if they keep it safe, and take it back to the Sacred Tree that it came from, it may be able to imbibe it with enough power to bring the forest back. Then, he fades away as well. One way or another, they're not getting anywhere without the device, so they decide to head to the Machine City to get it.

• The group rides Regulus and Ancient Fairy to the Machine City. Once they're there, they search for the device that brought them there. They eventually find it - the Robotic Knight discovered that it was designed for installation into a Duel Disk, so he created a prototype D-Wheel (a big one, big enough for a bunch of machines to ride on, so definitely big enough for all the kids) and installed the device into it. When they try to take the D-Wheel, the Robotic Knight shows up and Ushio and the Robotic Knight begin a Riding Duel. During the course of this duel, Isabel and Sly jump in - despite being opposed 3-on-1, the Robotic Knight begins conducting Fusion Summons that allow him to corner all three of them.

• Meanwhile, the Machine King shows up during the Riding Duel/attempted escape after detecting the presence of the sapling that will give him the last bit of power he needs. He attacks and Rua and Ruka begin a duel with him. Just as Robotic Knight has everybody else cornered, Machine King overpowers Rua and Ruka and reduces Rua's life points until they're near 0. At everybody's moment of need, Ruka has all the marks of the Crimson Dragon come to her and Synchro Summons Savior Fairy Dragon. She uses Savior Fairy Dragon to defeat the Machine King, causing a chain reaction that takes out the Robotic Knight as well, allowing them to escape. The release of energy causes the device to activate again, transporting them out of the Machine City.

• They land in another city (definitely not Neo Domino) at night, where nobody takes any of their cash, so they have to sleep in a park. Morning comes and some guys in blue uniforms tell them they gotta move along.
